Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe

Celebre la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en la iglesia de Todos los Santos comenzando con el Rosario (2:00 AM), seguido por Las Mañanitas (3:00 AM), la Misa (4:30 AM), y el baile tradicional en el Patio (5:30 AM). Las Misas vespertinas se celebrarán a las 5:00 PM y a las 7:00 PM (bilingüe), seguidas de una fiesta en el Centro de Actividades de la Parroquia.

Aparición de nuestra Señora de Guadalupe
La Virgen María se apareció a un hombre pobre llamado Juan Diego el 9 de diciembre de 1531. Ella le pidió construir un santuario en su nombre en el lugar exacto donde ella apareció en la colina de Tepayac, que está ahora en la ciudad de México. Juan Diego hizo lo que la Virgen pidió, pero cuando le dijo el obispo de la petición y la aparición, el obispo no le creyó y exigió una señal antes de que aprobara la construcción del Santuario. El 12 de diciembre, la Virgen volvió a aparecer a Juan Diego, pidiéndole a recoger rosas desde la cima de la colina de Tepayac, que era normalmente estéril – especialmente en diciembre, y para colocar las rosas en su manto. Cuando Juan Diego llevó las rosas al obispo, las rosas cayeron al suelo, y su manto reveló la imagen de la Virgen María.

Celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe at All Saints Church beginning with Rosary (2:00 AM), followed by Las Mañanitas (3:00 AM), Mass (4:30 AM), and traditional dance in the Courtyard (5:30 AM). Evening Masses will be celebrated at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM (bilingual), followed by a fiesta in the Parish Activities Center.

Apparition of our Lady of Guadalupe
The Virgin Mary appeared to a poor man named Juan Diego on December 9, 1531. She asked him that a shrine be built in her name in the exact spot where she appeared on Tepayac Hill, which is now in Mexico City. Juan Diego did what the Virgin asked, but when he told the bishop of the request and the apparition, the bishop did not believe him and demanded a sign before he would approve construction of the shrine. On December 12, the Virgin Mary reappeared to Juan Diego, asking him to collect roses from the top of Tepayac Hill, which was normally barren – especially in December, and to place the roses in his cloak. When Juan Diego took the roses to the bishop, the roses fell to the floor – and his cloak revealed the image of the Virgin Mary.
That cloak is displayed today in the Basilica de Guadalupe in Mexico City.
